Break-Even ROAS Calculator

Find the return your ads need to cover per-order variable costs.

KNOW YOUR STARTING POINT

Find your break-even.

◌ Stays on your device. Inputs are processed in this browser and are not uploaded.

Use one currency throughout. Enter total per-order amounts, including payment fees as an amount, not a percentage. Enter 0 for costs that do not apply.

Up to two decimal places. Revenue excludes sales taxes you remit; include any other variable costs you want this scenario to cover.

A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to use it

  1. Enter revenue per order.
  2. Include product, fulfilment, payment, and other per-order variable costs.
  3. Review contribution before ad spend and the break-even return.

Fixed overhead, returns, taxes, and repeat purchases require explicit assumptions. Zero or negative contribution means there is no positive ad allowance.

A CONCRETE EXAMPLE

Revenue of 100 and variable costs of 60 leave 40 for advertising: break-even ROAS = 100 ÷ 40 = 2.5.

Know the limits

Fixed overhead, returns, taxes, and repeat purchases require explicit assumptions. Zero or negative contribution means there is no positive ad allowance.

A good question

Is this a recommended ROAS target?

No. Break-even is a cost boundary under your inputs, not a profitability target or financial forecast.
