What is used on the public site
The public site stores your theme choice (Light, Dark, or System) and design choice (Modern or Editorial) in your browser’s local storage when available. These preferences are kept on your device and are not cookies. Analytics starts only after you choose Allow analytics. If you allow it, a random browser ID is saved in local storage and a tab session ID in session storage. ToolNest then records public page views, referral host, optional campaign labels, link destinations, and approximate visible page time. The server stores keyed hashes of those IDs, not raw visitor IP addresses or browser fingerprints, and deletes analytics event records after 90 days. Country and VPN/proxy status are not collected. Use Privacy choices in the footer to change or withdraw consent; withdrawal requests deletion of records linked to that browser ID.
Administrator sign-in
A secure, HTTP-only session cookie is used when an administrator signs in to the private admin area. It keeps that session working and is not used to track ordinary visitors. Public tools do not require an account.
Optional third-party code
First-party analytics is optional and starts only after you choose Allow analytics. Optional third-party advertising, verification, or other snippets are separate; if enabled later, their providers may use their own cookies or browser storage and may receive page or device information. The site owner should review the provider and update this notice before enabling such code.
Your browser choices
You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Clearing local storage resets your saved theme and design choices. Blocking the administrator session cookie affects admin sign-in; it does not prevent use of the public tools.
